Prof. Nili Cohen, President of the Israel Academy visited the Summer Science Exhibition of the Royal Society in London.

 

The President of the Israel Academy, Prof. Nili Cohen, was at the annual Summer Science Exhibition organized by the Royal Society in London. In the framework of the event, the Royal Society held a festive dinner for senior scientists from Britain and guests from abroad, where Prof. Cohen met with the President of the Royal Society, Nobel laureate Sir Venki Ramakrishnan.

 

The Israel Academy’s strong connection with the Royal Society was initiated a few years ago thanks to the generous support of the late Sir Ralph Kohn, who died in 2016. Sir Kohn was a true friend of Israel and worked hard to establish close scientific ties between the Israel Academy and the Royal Society. In the past year The Israel Academy and the Royal Society held two successful joint scientific conferences in Jerusalem, and next year there will be further bi-national conferences and visits by scientists.
