On 22-23 October, a workshop of the Israeli and Azerbaijan National Academies of Science took place with the participation of leading scholars and academy members from both countries.

 

During the workshop, sessions covered a wide range of subjects of mutual interest to both countries, including research on earthquake hazards, early warning systems using artificial intelligence, and more.

 

Over fifteen presenting scientists and geologists from Israel participated, included Academy member and Israel Prize recipient Prof. Zvi Ben-Avraham, Prof. Alon Ziv, Prof. Lev Eppelbaum, Prof. Amotz Agnon, Prof. Yaron Katzir, and Dr. Uri Schattner.

 

The scientists met with their Azerbaijani counterparts, led by Vice-President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Prof. Fakhraddin Kadirov, as well as Prof. Gurban Yetirmishli, Prof. Gulam Babayev, and Dr. Rafig Safarov.
