At the annual Open Meeting of the General Assembly of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, on December 27, 2016, six distinguished new members were welcomed to the Academy, bringing the total number of members to 120.

In welcoming the new members, Prof. Nili Cohen, President of the Israel Academy, emphasized that their inclusion “will help the Academy fulfill the national and international goals it has set for itself and further the development of scientific activity in Israel.”
Following their introduction by Prof. Itamar Wilner, Chairperson of the Sciences Division, and Prof. Yosef Kaplan, Chairperson of the Humanities Division, the new members gave inaugural lectures in their areas of expertise.
