Kavli Frontiers of Science Program

The special connection formed by the collaboration agreement between the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the U.S. National Academy of Science (NAS) is reflected by the Kavli Frontiers of Science Program.
The initiative started in 2013. It includes inter-disciplinary conferences in the natural sciences, attended by outstanding young scientists from both countries.

Since these conferences are interdisciplinary by nature, discussions are distinctly jargon-free. Thus, participants gain exposure to topics completely new to them and unique collaboration opportunities arise. In the U.S., where the program began in 1989, many Kavli fellows subsequently went on to become NAS members, and more than a few have received the Nobel Prize.
