The conference “Palaestina on the Map of Late Antique Mobility and Migration” took place at The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities on March 12–14, 2023, in the framework of the Academy’s Interdisciplinary Forum on Late Antiquity, headed by Academy Member Prof. Maren Niehoff. The conference was addressed by fifteen scholars from Israel and abroad and two keynote speakers, Prof. Mischa Meier, a historian and Leibniz Prize laureate from the University of Tübingen in Germany, and Prof. Simon Goldhill, a scholar of Greek literature in the Roman Empire and Foreign Secretary of the British Academy. The conference succeeded in sparking a lively conversation between textual experts, on the one hand, and archaeologists and materials scholars, on the other. The lectures were on a very high level and will be published as a point of departure for the ongoing activity of the Forum.
