An Agreement for Scientific Cooperation was signed with the Hungarian Academy in 1990. The agreement includes the exchange of scientists, joint publications, joint seminars and exchange of information.

A number of Hungarian researchers have visited Israel under the framework of the agreement over the past three decades, and Israeli scholars have visited Hungary. They include scholars in the fields of Biochemistry, Plant Physiology, Archaeology, Philosophy of Science, and Radiation Chemistry.
