On February 18, 2019, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Israel, Dr. Susanne Wasum-Rainer, visited the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities at the invitation of Academy President Prof. Nili Cohen. The ambassador, together with Ms. Franciska Obermeyer, Head of the Cultural Department at the German Embassy, participated in an introductory meeting, and a tour of the Academy. They met with a number of Academy members and discussed the flourishing academic and scientific relations between Germany and Israel.
The Ambassador and Ms. Obermeyer met with Academy Members Prof. Daniel Friedmann, Prof. Menahem Yaari, and Prof. Shulamit Volkov, as well as Adv. Tamar Arad-Kareth, Ms. Galia Finzi, Director of the Israel Academy, and Ms. Jo Cohen, Director of the Academy’s International Division.
