On February 20, 2020, Prof. Nili Cohen, President of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, participated in the handover ceremony in which the leadership of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina passed from its 26th president, Prof. Jörg Hacker, to its 27th president, Prof. Gerald Haug.

 

The ceremony was held at the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina in Halle.

 

In the course of Professor Hacker’s two-term, 10-year tenure as president, relations between the Israel and German Academies have grown and flourished.
