In September 2020, the newly appointed Ambassador of Israel to Korea, Mr. Akiva Tor, visited the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities.

 

Ambassador Tor met with Academy President Prof. Nili Cohen, Ms. Galia Finzi, Director of the Academy, and Ms. Jo Cohen, Director of the International Division, to learn about the Academy and its relationship with the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST).

 

The Israel Academy signed an Agreement for Scientific Cooperation with the Korean Academy in 1990 and renewed it, in Seoul, in 2019. The two academies will promote scientific cooperation primarily through bilateral symposia, and scientist exchanges. The first bilateral symposium is planned to take place in April 2021 in Jerusalem, in the field of Nano-science.
