On February 10, 2021, the Ambassador of Lithuania to the State of Israel, H.E. Lina Antanavičienė, and Ms. Gita Blinstrubaite, Deputy Head of Mission, visited the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. They met with Academy President Prof. Nili Cohen, MK Andrei Kozhinov, Head of the Israel-Lithuanian Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Academy member Prof. Israel Bartal, historian of the history of Israel in Eastern European countries.

 

They discussed historical, cultural and academic connections between Lithuaina and Israel, and potential future academic collaboration between the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. A Memorandum of Understanding regarding scientific cooperation was signed between the two academies in Lithuania in 2016.
