Academy President Prof. Nili Cohen Attends Eighth Higher Education Conference

On June 29, 2021, Prof. Nili Cohen, President of The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, attended the eighth Higher Education Conference, sponsored by Israel’s Council for Higher Education. The conference, entitled “The Current Multi-Year Plan: The Springboard to the Next Plan,” was held in Jerusalem.

Prof. Cohen greeted the participants at the conference’s opening session, as did the President of the State of Israel, Reuven Rivlin. The speakers were Prof. Ido Perlman, Deputy Chair of the Council for Higher Education; Prof. Yaffa Zilbershatz, Chair of the Planning and Budgeting Committee; and Ms. Michal Neumann, Acting Director-General of the Council for Higher Education.

At the conference, Council for Higher Education Awards were given to Academy Member Prof. Haim Harari for his broad-ranging contributions to the advancement of higher education in the State of Israel; Prof. Tamar Ariav, president emerita of Beit Berl College, for her outstanding leadership of an institution of higher education, and Young Academy alumna Prof. Ayelet Baram-Tsabari, as a young faculty member whose work makes an exceptional contribution to society.
