On November 17, 2021, the British Ambassador, H.E. Neil Wigan OBE, visited the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities to meet with Academy President Prof. David Harel. The ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Jonathan Mendelbaum-Shor, Director of the British Council and Ms. Keren Shurkin, Head of UK Science and Innovation Network (SIN) at the British Embassy Israel.

 

 

They met with a number of Academy members to discuss academic and scientific relations between Britain and Israel, and express their support for strengthening ties between researchers in Israel and the UK.

Former Israel Academy presidents Prof. Nili Cohen and Prof. Menahem Yaari, Academy Vice-President Prof. Margalit Finkelberg, Chair of the Humanities Division Prof. Sergiu Hart, and Academy members Prof. David Milstein (foreign member of the Royal Society) and Prof. Simon Hopkins (Corresponding member of the British Academy) took part in the meeting.
