Dr. Nikhil Kumar

Nikhil Kumar was born in 1994 in a village nearby the city of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, India. Encouraged to seek a quality education by his parents, who, he knew, had to struggle for every penny, he sought an d qualified for admission to a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) school at age 9 and studied there from the 6th to the 12th  grades. Living in the school’s residential framework allowed him to make friends from many different backgrounds and to become independent. 
Kumar received his B.Sc. in chemistry (H) from Delhi University, where he received awards for distinction and for overall performance, and his M.Sc. in chemistry from the Central University of Haryana, where he was again awarded for merit. He became involved in research during a summer internship at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar, and was subsequently selected as a project assistant in a UGC-DAE-CSR-sponsored project. He began his Ph.D. in chemistry in 2018 at NIT Kurukshetra under Dr. Avijit Kumar Paul and completed it in 2021, in three years, during which he published a number of research papers.
During his studies, Kumar participated in a number of sports, arts and culture, music, NCC, NSS, YRC camping, and social welfare activities. He has received some 60 awards and certificates of appreciation. His belief in hard work is reflected in his receipt of an Excellence Fellowship from The Israel Academy of Science and Humanities to conduct postdoctoral research with Prof. Alex Schechter at Ariel University in Samaria.
