Academy President and Vice President Visit the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT)

The President of The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Prof. David Harel, and the Vice President of the Academy, Prof. Margalit Finkelberg, visited the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) on November 14, 2022. They met with HIT’s president, Prof. Eduard Yakubov, with its administrative staff, and with the heads of the faculties, who presented the institute’s wide-scale, multidisciplinary work. Dr. Yarden Niv, director of the State of the Sciences in Israel Report at the Academy, also participated in the visit.
 
Prof. Harel and Prof. Finkelberg visited the Living Lab, an open research and innovation space in the form of a smart, sensor-fitted apartment that provides a multidisciplinary R&D platform. Dr. Refael Barkan, HIT’s Vice President for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Internationalization, showed them the impressive work of the Department of Digital Medical Technologies. They also visited the laboratory of Prof. Alla Zak, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, who told them about her groundbreaking research in nanomaterials, and were impressed with the multifaceted research work being done there.
