Alix De Rothschild Fellowship

The Call for Applications for Alix De Rothschild Fellowship Program for Doctoral Students in Humanities and Social Sciences has been published for the 2023-2024 academic year.
The Fellowship Program for Doctoral Students in Humanities and Social Sciences is a joint initiative of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities (IASH) and the Alix De Rothschild Fund for Scholarships. The fellowship program was established in November 2023 in response to surveys conducted by the IASH concerning the advancement of research in the humanities and social sciences which identified a lack of support for outstanding researchers in these fields. The fellowship program is funded by the Alix De Rothschild Fund and is managed by the IASH.
The establishment of a prestigious fellowship program under the auspices of the IASH will support outstanding researchers in the humanities and social sciences and will encourage excelling students to pursue research in these fields. Official recognition of excellence in research in the humanities and social sciences will open opportunities for future researchers to continue advancing their research in Israel and around the world and will offer them the support necessary to reach the forefront of research.
The fellowships are intended for students who are Israeli citizens pursuing a doctoral degree at Israel’s universities and research institutions and require a fellowship to complete their studies. The fellowships are awarded strictly based on excellence to students whose research is especially promising and worthy of recognition. Two fellowships will be awarded every year; each for the sum of $15,000 and will be paid to the personal accounts of the awardees by the IASH. The awardees will be chosen by a selection committee of the IASH headed by Prof. Nili Cohen, Former President of the IASH.
The IASH will publish a Call for Applications for the fellowship program annually. The IASH will make a concerted effort to maintain contact with program alumni and create a scientific community of researchers in the humanities and social sciences which stands at the pinnacle of Israeli and global science.
