Agreement for Scientific Cooperation signed with Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences

17/03/2021
On March 16, 2021, the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences signed a bi-lateral agreement for scientific cooperation, to cultivate, promote and support the relationship between outstanding scientists in Uzbekistan and Israel for the mutual benefit of the scientific communities of the two countries.

The cooperation is for an initial five years and has two components: an Uzbek-Israeli scientific workshop every two years, alternating between Uzbekistan and Israel; and an exchange program for Visiting Scholars intended to build networks between scientists, and to promote bi-lateral collaboration between researchers and between academic institutions.

The agreement was signed by Academy presidents Prof. Nili Cohen and Prof. Bekhzod Yuldashev in an online ceremony, attended by the Uzbek Academy leadership, Academy Vice-President Prof. David Harel and Academy Director Galia Finzi. Uzbekistan Ambassador to Israel, Ms. Feruza Makhmudova, who made the introduction between the two academies, also attended the ceremony.
