The Talmud Yerushalmi, unlike the Talmud Bavli, never gave rise to a continuing tradition of interpretation, and very few manuscripts have remained for comparing and correcting the frequent corruptions in the text. Herein lies the special significance of the Concordance, which offers expositors and scholars considerable assistance in elucidating unclear or defective passages and explaining difficult terms and expressions.
Volumes One through Eight present the complete vocabulary of the text, with citations from the relevant passages. The separate one-volume Onomasticon: Thesaurus of Proper Names lists names of of persons and places.
