This catalogue assembles information on all the manuscripts and known fragments of the halakhic midrashim preserved in libraries throughout the world. For this purpose, tens of thousands of Genizah fragments were systematically surveyed in order to identify the few surviving fragments of halakhic midrashim among them, and to ascertain the original codexes to which they belong. The primary purpose of the Catalogue is to supply a basis for the preparation of new critical editions. It will also assist researchers in locating manuscript variants of the thousands of homilies included in the halakhic midrashim.
