On April 30, 2024, the German Ambassador, Steffen Seibert, visited the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities to meet with Academy President Prof. David Harel. The ambassador was accompanied by Dr. Barbara Seimetz, Head of Department of Science and Environment at the German Embassy.

 

They discussed academic and scientific relations between Germany and Israel, and referenced the fruitful cooperation to date with the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. They also discussed the challenges facing the higher education system in Israel, and various ways to support Israeli research during this challenging period.

 

Academy Director Mrs. Galia Finzi and Head of the International Division Dr. Neta Peretz took part in the meeting.
