Fifth Blavatnik US–Israel Scientific Forum Held in Washington: Focus on Genomic Medicine Across the Human Lifespan

On October 22–23, 2025, the fifth meeting of the Blavatnik US-Israel Scientific Forum, a joint initiative of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS), was held in Washington, DC. This year’s theme wasGenomic Medicine Over the Human Life Course.”

The forum brought together leading researchers from Israel and the United States for in-depth scientific discussions on the role of genomics in understanding human health across the lifespan. Among the members of the Israeli delegation were Academy members Prof. Moshe Oren and Prof. Yossef Shiloh, who also served as Chair of the Forum.

The scientific program included six thematic sessions focusing on the genetics of complex traits, cancer genomics, artificial intelligence and computational approaches in genomic research, genome stability, and therapeutic possibilities for monogenic diseases.

The forum served as a platform for knowledge exchange and for deepening scientific collaboration between research institutions in Israel and the United States, reflecting the Academy’s ongoing commitment to advancing international cooperation in cutting-edge scientific research.
