As part of an official visit organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a delegation of scholars from South Africa visited Israel this week. The purpose of the visit was to gain a deeper understanding of the work of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and to explore opportunities for future collaboration. During their meeting at the Academy, the delegation toured the “A Gathering Place of Scholars” exhibition and received an overview of the Academy’s history, mission, and role in advancing scientific research in Israel.
The main discussion centered on the Humanities Division’s
Forum of the Abrahamic Religions, a unique initiative that promotes interfaith dialogue and academic research in the fields of religion, culture, and society. Representing the Academy were Director General Esther Sivan, Academy Member Prof. Guy Stroumsa, Sima Daniel, Manager of the Humanities Division, and Liat Mandelbaum Shor, Head of the International Relations Department.
