The Academy held the annual Adams Conference for 2026

On February 3, 2026 the Israel annual Adams Conference took place at the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, attended by the current Adams Fellows as well as several alumni.
 
The conference program featured two main lectures by distinguished academic personalities.
Prof. Ariel Porat, President of Tel Aviv University and Israel Academy Member, presented his research on “Personalization of the Law” and discussed the role of academic institutional leadership in times of crisis.
 
Prof. Mor Peretz, a Senior Faculty Member at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Founder and CEO of CaPow, and Adams alumnus, delivered a lecture on “Crossing Bridges: Industry vs. Academia.” Peretz who has received international recognition for his achievements in both academia as well as industry gave the Adams Fellows advice, practical tips and encouragement for the advancement of their academic careers in Israel.
 
In his opening remarks, Academy President Prof. David Harel spoke about the heritage of Mr. Marcel Adams, the deceased founder of the Adams Fellowships Program, and about the challenges the scientific community in Israel faces today. Prof. Moshe Oren, Academy Member and chairperson of the program’s Steering and Approval Committee, led the event.
 
The conference also included two series of short lectures by members of the new class of Adams Fellows. They presented their research in the fields of exact sciences, life sciences, mathematics, computer science, information science and engineering.
 
The Adams Fellowships Program, established in 2005, grants each fellow 100,000 NIS per year for up to four years, as well as a travel allowance of $3,000 per year toward their participation in scientific conferences and workshops abroad, for scientific collaboration and to find a position for postdoctoral training.
