The Alix De Rothschild Fellowships Program for Doctoral Students in Humanities and Social Sciences awarded scholarships to three distinguished researchers, following the program’s expansion this year to include the
Nili Cohen Fellowship. A festive awards ceremony took place this week at the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
The awardees of the Alix de Rothschild Fellowship for the 2025-2026 academic year are:
Galina Lochekhina from Ariel University, recognized for her research in the Department of Jewish Heritage
Adva Shoham from Tel Aviv University, recognized for her research at the School of Psychological Sciences
The awardee of the Nili Cohen Fellowship for the 2025-2026 academic year is:
Tal Ravid-Roth from the University of Haifa, recognized for her research in the Department of Psychology
The awardees were chosen through a multi-tiered selection process conducted by a designated committee of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The fellowship program awards scholarships in the amount of $15,000 to research students pursuing a doctoral degree in the humanities and social sciences at Israeli universities and require a fellowship to complete their studies. The fellowships are awarded strictly based on academic excellence to students whose research is especially promising and worthy of recognition.
The ceremony opened with greetings from Prof. David Harel, President of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and Prof. Nili Cohen, Former President of the Israel Academy and Chair of the fellowship program committee. Adv. Pazit Shalmon Baratz, Trustee of the Alix de Rothschild Memorial Trust for Crafts and Scholarships for Students, addressed the awardees as well. Each of the awardees briefly presented their research and prospective academic journeys.
