Dr. Ayan Maity received his PhD in 2021 from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, under the supervision of Prof. Vivek Polshettiwar. His research interests lie in both fundamental studies and applications of nanochemistry. In his PhD research, he developed various novel high surface area nanomaterials and demonstrated their applications in the fields of catalysis, plastic degradation, CO2 capture, and conversion. He has published his work in several prestigious international journals and presented it at various national and international conferences.

 

Ayan received his first degree from Presidency University, Kolkata, and joined the TIFR for an Integrated PhD program in 2014.

 

In addition to his academic work, he enjoys painting, graphic design, music, and hiking, and he manages to read one book a month.
